The finish everything else sits on.
Good plastering is the difference between walls that look perfect under paint and walls that show every flaw. We skim, re-plaster and board ceilings and walls to a smooth, flat finish that's ready to decorate.
Outside, a modern render gives a tired or patchy house a crisp, clean look and adds a weather-resistant layer that protects the brickwork for years.

Good questions.
How long does fresh plaster take to dry?
A skim coat usually dries in around 3 to 7 days depending on the weather and ventilation. Thicker re-plastering can take longer. It's ready to paint once it turns an even light pink.
Which type of render is best?
Silicone render is self-coloured, flexible and stays clean for longer, so it's the most popular choice. Monocouche is a good one-coat option, and sand and cement suits traditional finishes. We'll recommend the best fit for your property.
Can you plaster over Artex?
Yes. In most cases Artex can be sealed and skimmed over for a smooth finish. If it needs testing or removing first, we'll tell you before work starts.
Do I need permission to render my house?
Rendering is often permitted development for houses, but flats, listed buildings and homes in conservation areas may need consent. We'll check this for you.
